Classes hold no appeal for you — they have forever been considered inconvenient: forcing you to hear what has already been understood, denying you the chance to excel on your own. The notion of continuing an education is as surreal as it is unwanted; and college is simply not for you.
It doesn’t have to be.
While seeking a traditional business education is recommended, there are ways to avoid universities and to instead quicken the process of learning. These methods are ideal for those who have already achieved a level of success within their companies and who wish simply to improve their current position.
The most common alternatives are:
One: Trade Schools. To receive specialized training (rather than a broad knowledge), trade schools are recommended. They can offer the precise facts needed to do well within a particular field without forcing you to suffer through unneeded classes.
Two: Online Certifications. A college does not have to be contained within brick and mortar structures. It can instead be found online. An individual can seek out specific certifications and seminars, earning them at their own pace.
Three: Books. If the idea of a formal education does not impress, then it may be best instead to look to pages. There are countless books and journals available that detail the truth of business. These offer no validation but can still provide useful information. You would be responsible for yourself and that may appeal.
Searching for the typical credits and degrees is not for everyone. Some will find better value instead in the alternatives. It should be noted still, however, that some form of business education is needed to improve your career — allowing you to become a presence in the office and gain recognition from your peers. You must simply decide whether college should be chosen or not. Understand what you want and find the solution that will best offer it.
Know yourself to know which method will work.
